SOMA Guide Review

You can call it Contemporary American or you can call it California Mediterranean. Whatever the cuisine, owners David and Mary Sperber have been serving something great at this location for 20 years and it is more that the view that keeps their regulars coming back for more. They are now presenting a $20 prix fixe menu that celebrates those 20 years. But don’t delay, but it only lasts until November. Also recommended for dinner, the petrale sole and the brisket. And for appetizers, the polenta and ravioli. Try the brunch, which rates in the top 50 in the country. For lunch, Tuesday thru Friday, sample the foccacia sandwiches. And for breakfast, served until 2, go with Mary’s Special or Dave’s Special. Their fish is fresh and sustainable, their produce is organic, as are the eggs. And their meat is almost entirely natural. They do to go orders and they will happily do private parties, including breakfast meetings. Did I mention they have an in-house bakery?
